How can I become a blogger? I don't even have a TOPIC!!!
So, you have thought about becoming a blogger. You have probably considered all of your options, and now you need to think of a topic. The problem is you want to blog, but you have no idea what to blog about.
Usually, before I start a blog I think of the following things, and this usually helps me to make a nice blog, that people want to read.
The Topic
What do you like? What are you good at? What are your hobbies? - Figuring out who you are is the first step. My interest was making money online, so I started a making money online blog. Say your interest is Hockey; you may want to start a blog about a certain hockey team or playing hockey. You need to discover something that you like, and that you can write about. There is 0 point in starting a blog, and hiring someone to write every post. It’s a waste of money and will get you nowhere.
The Need
Is there a need for what you want to talk about? Are there already a billion blogs out there about this topic? If there is, it may not be the best choice. After you find this out, you need to go back to step one, and find something that you like, where people have not already filled the market. Now that you’ve found the need you can move forward, it could take months for you to find the need as well.
The Market
How do you plan to market your new blog? Look around for places, to join and discuss things. Find out more about what people think about that topic and what they would want to see. You don’t want to create a blog without knowing what people want from that blog. So discover the need for it. Look around and see what they need from your blog. They need your blog, but what exactly on your blog do they need.
What is Valuable
You could reword this one to “What is valuable”, now you have a topic. You need a title for your blog, but what’s the most valuable topic, is it “make money” or is it “making money”, which has the most value to it. That’s going to be a good point.
Now, that you have come up with your topic you can go ahead with your blog, and make it the best blog ever.
That’s exactly what I’m trying to do with my blog.
